Protection
In this day and age Protection of our homes and property is a great concern for many people. A few things you should know about how I do protection.
1. I do NOT teach dogs to be vicious.
2. I do NOT teach dogs to be aggressive towards humans!
3. I do NOT teach dogs to go out and attack anything that moves!
Most importantly if you are interested in teaching a dog protection simply to make yourself look good or to show off to your friends DO NOT BOTHER ASKING ME TO WORK WITH YOU OR YOUR DOG! I don't mean to sound rude but I am very particular about this area of training. There are already to many dogs out there that are messed up because they were trained by somebody that just wanted a big bad dog that would attack on command. Protection is NOT about teaching your dog to bite somebody! It is about teaching your dog CONTROL and when not to bite versus when to bite! It is about teaching your dog that there are certain rules to follow if and when he is to protect you!
The Sport of Protection is something that many people get into because they want to become a Team with their dog! This is what I concentrate on most as the dog/handler MUST function well together or there can be serious problems that can arise from this type of training. Some of the most fun I have ever had is in this type of training. It's not for everybody but it can be a great way to better not only your bond/working ability with your dog but yourself as well. The key is to never stop leering and to learn what your limitations are. Some dogs simply are not cut out for this type of work. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT!
Individuals that are interested must go through a thorough screening process prior to commencing with this type of training with me and must sign a waiver of liability and have it notarized as well.
